My Amazing Husband...

I have the most amazing husband in the world. He has been so wonderful to me. He knows I feel yucky and has gone above and beyond to help out around the house. He has loaded and unloaded the dishwasher without being asked and done many other household chores! I am so lucky! Our house would be a disaster without him! I may not always say how much I appreciate him, so I hope he reads this and realizes how truly wonderful I think he is!

I am such a lucky girl...

8-10 weeks

I went to the doctor for my first OB appointment on October 14th. I met our midwife and love her! She gave me some advise about the headaches I have been getting(magnesium)! She scheduled me for another ultrasound. They wanted to confirm the exact due date.

I had the ultrasound on October 21st. It was so amazing to see the little baby. It was moving like crazy. In one of the pictures(that I will scan and post soon) the baby is kicking its little leg buds! It was the best thing I have ever seen! The heart rate was 169, exactly where it should be.

I hope all the moving is just for now and not an indication of a wild baby...

In the beginning...

I found out I was pregnant on September 14th! I took two tests and and still could not believe it. We conceived a baby during the RNC(Republican National Convention), while Adam was working 12+ hour shifts! It is amazing to me!

I was so afraid to tell anyone because I had two miscarriages prior to this pregnancy. I called the doctor the next day and they started monitoring me right away. I had three blood draws over the course of the next week and an ultrasound the following week. I was 5 and a 1/2 weeks at the first ultrasound and we could only see the yolk sac.

During those first few weeks I was still really scared. I was tired and a little nauseous, but that would come and go. I was so afraid I was going to lose another baby. At about 7 weeks I was completely reassured with the onset of constant nausea, which lead to throwing up. I tend to get sick in the evenings. Nothing triggers...it just happens! I have to say, it is the only time in my life I am going to be happy about feeling sick.

Bring on the nausea! Bring on the vomit! And a healthy baby in the end would be awesome!

What a Gemini baby is like...

Eager to get going (this baby probably kicked up a storm in the womb!), the Gemini baby is likely to be talking early and making a mark from day one. Curious and quite the explorer, this tot is one who needs lots of stimuli in order to be happy, as they are easily bored. Since those communication skills are top-notch, the smart thing to do with this baby is bring them into a play group as soon as possible. At home, siblings could easily fill this function, as someone must! It's never too early for the Gemini baby to interact with others, and they will also learn their lessons early on. The Gemini tot is definitely not clingy. Quite the contrary, this is one baby who is happy to march to their own drummer, gallivanting about and being amused in the process. Surprisingly, when this baby is not engaged (chatting or playing with others), there could be a certain emotional detachment. For that reason, it's best to keep things uncomplicated and easy for them to understand, the better to maintain harmony. To sum up, the Gemini baby is the Great Communicator of the play group, has a short attention span (so keep 'em busy!), and is one clever and creative tot.
